The thing about being scottish and living in another country, is that once people hear the accent, they just love to chat to you. Also, everyone, and I mean every single person you get introducted to, once they hear you speak, they try to copy the scottish accent. It makes me laugh. I bought a copy of the oor wullie and broons cartoons into the office and had some of my collegues try to read it out loud. Ah...the laughs we had that day!

A tip though for all Glaswegians.....tell people you're from Edinburgh and not Glasgow.....otherwise people screw their face up in disgust and horror. (Apparently Glasgow is a very violent place, full of drug addicts and alcoholics and pavements covered in vomit. Hmmm.......sounds familiar.....)

Let me introduce myself.....I'm a 27 year old female from the lovely (cough, splutter) town of Bellshill, near Glasgow. About 8 months ago, I quit my job as a software tester, rented out my flat, and bought a plane ticket to New Zealand. After 2 months of travelling, I ran out of cash and had to get a job. So here I am....contracting as a software tester in Auckland, New Zealand.
