I'm back in NZ now. The journey back wasn't too good. I was supposed to have a hotel booked in Dubai as I has a 10 hour wait before my next flight. No hotel booked though, so I had to spend 10 hours in Dubai airport. Wasn't a pleasant experience. Spent the first 5 hours in a hard plastic seat and managed to get about 2 hours sleep. Then went off in search of some floor space. Managed to sleep for an hour or so there. I also had to pay $12 US for a shower, which is ridiculous. An airport of that size that is as busy as it is should have free shower facilities.

Didn't need the booze on the plane either. Was so knackered I was sleeping as soon as I was in my seat. And was woken up again by the german girl next to me nudging me awake to say they were coming round with drinks. Was not best pleased, but guess she was only trying to be nice.

Is nice to be back. Good to see my boyfriend and dog again. Lovely weather here too. Not a cloud in the sky and pretty warm. Going to sit in the garden today and chill out with a book.

Well, I made it back in one piece. There were 2 attempts at landing at Brisbane airport which scared me half to death, but other than that, it was an ok journey.

Just been watching tv, eating and sleeping. I'm sure I'll get bored of that before my 2 weeks is up.

It's 10am. I need to leave at about 12.45pm to get the bus into town. Am very nervous I have to say. There have been so many disasters recently in the aviation industry. A comment my boyfriend made yesterday at lunch is playing on my mind too. He asked me where I wanted to go for our last lunch together. I said it wasn't our last lunch. He said yes it was because the plane was going to crash.

I believe I'll be fine. I believe this because my friend in Scotland went to a very good psychic at the weekend who told her that she had a friend in NZ and that she would go out there to visit her.

Now that I think about it though. My friend went to see this psychic about a year and a half ago and she told her then that she had a friend in NZ. It's just common sense really to say she would come out to visit. Damn.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll be fine. I have 2 books by James Patterson, some gossip mags, and the in flight movies will be good. It's only 24 hours in the air after all.

It was my last day at work on Friday. I was a bit sad. Everyone said some really nice things about me. I got a lovely bunch of flowers, a big card, and a lot of vouchers to spend at the mall. We didn't have a night out as they don't do that kind of thing, but we did go out for lunch. I had lasagne. Very nice it was too.

Been a pretty quiet weekend really. We did go out last night and have dinner and drinks with a group of friends. The pub we went to had a really good live band who played a variety of music. I was glad of my one remaining can of irn bru this morning. A breakfast of pringles and irn bru. You can't beat it.

Flying out tomorrow around 5pm. I'm so not looking forward to the long flight. I'm thinking of trying drinking alcohol aboard the plane to try to knock me out. I usually just have a coke or water and I find it really hard to sleep. I'll let you know if it works or not!
